More than 300 flights cancelled in US due to winter blast

MORE than 300 flights were cancelled at two airports in Chicago leaving thousands of passengers stranded and sleeping in airports due to storms in the US.
O’Hare and Midway airports were hit on Tuesday and thousands of ComEd customers remained without power after a wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain, snow and high winds pommeled the Chicago area.
For the second day in a row, O’Hare was the US epicentre for flight cancellations.
As of 3:50pm (US time), more than 290 flights had been cancelled at O’Hare and delays were reported of 30 minutes or more, the city’s Department of Aviation said.
