Higher Compensation for Flyers: Indian Cabinet Revises the Air Carriage Act 1972


The Indian Union Cabinet on Tuesday, dated 17th March, 2015, has amended the Air Carriage Act 1972, paving ways for passengers to get higher compensation for flight delays, lost or damaged baggage, damage sustained in case of death or bodily injury. While the government’s step to revise the Act has benefited the passengers travelling by air, the airline companies become liable to pay out more for flight delays, baggage loss etc.
